ActionAid International respects each individual’s right to personal privacy. We will collect and use information through our website only in the ways disclosed in this statement. This statement applies solely to information collected at ActionAid’s UK website (www.actionaid.org.uk). We hope the following statement will help you understand how ActionAid UK collects, uses and safeguards the personal information you provide to us on our website.

ActionAid UK collects information throughout the website at several points. We collect the following general data that is not personally identifiable information: on-line straw polls; browser information; country/ geographical information; pages visited and files downloaded.
We collect information through registration forms, click-stream tracking and automatic logging files. We use html forms to collect names and addresses, email addresses. All information is collected using html forms and it is automatically entered onto our computer system. The information is collected voluntarily. To give us a donation online or to complete the Gift Aid declaration it is mandatory to provide address and payment details or simply address details (for GA) so that we can process your details successfully.
We use cookies on our website. A cookie is a small text file that our web server places on a user’s computer hard drive to be a unique identifier. Cookies enable ActionAid to track usage patterns and deliver customised content to website visitors. Our cookies have an expiration date and they collect personally identifiable information.

The information collected by ActionAid will be used for informing people about our campaigns and services, responding to enquiries, and soliciting support. Users who provide information will be given the option to receive information relating to the work of ActionAid. Users may access their own personal information by request. They can also contact us about inaccuracies they may find by emailing supporterservices@actionaid.org.uk. If problems arise, users may contact ActionAid UK by email, fax or telephone. We are committed to resolving all enquiries within 5 working days.
