The World Bank, IMF and rich donor governments are not living up to their development commitments. Poor countries need more & better aid, with 100% debt cancellation now - to lift millions out of poverty and help secure their basic rights.
For aid to really work it must be focussed on the poorest and not come with damaging strings attached.
One quarter of the aid provided by rich countries funds expensive and often ineffective consultants.
These powerful institutions have a huge influence on poor countries - but too often this is not used to effectively tackle poverty.
