2005 was a record-breaking year - millions of people came together, calling on the UK Government to make poverty history. As a result, some progress was made to deliver more aid, cancel some debts and significant steps were taken towards providing treatment for all with HIV and AIDS by 2010. But these were just the first steps. So much more needs to be done. Having pushed global poverty to the top of the agenda, we cannot allow it to slip.
What happens next?
2005 was just the beginning. With your help we have successfully put global poverty on the agenda, but we must keep up the pressure.
