What is campaigning?

Make your mark, target AIDS treatment for all

ActionAid campaigns around the world to challenge the decisions which keep poor people locked in poverty.

Our campaigns put pressure on the people and organisations who can really make a difference to the lives of ordinary people in developing countries.

You can get involved in lots of different ways – from sending an email, signing a petition, writing to your MP, or attending a rally.

Alongside your actions we are meeting with MPs, government ministers and business leaders, pressing them for change.

Ground-breaking researching and media coverage means we have an even bigger impact.

Together, we can campaign to end poverty.

Governments, big business and world leaders have the power to end world poverty. The lives of millions depend on the actions of a few powerful people.

Your voice is vital. Join us and help make change happen.

Does it work?

History is shaped by people fighting for justice – and winning. Over the last few years our campaigning has helped to:

  • double the UK aid budget by 2013
  • cancel the debts of 20 poor countries, worth over $50 billon
  • win the promise of HIV treatment for all who need it

What can I do?

Join target poverty and you can take regular campaign actions.

You’ll be linking up with thousands of people around the country. Chose the level of involvement that suits you best and we’ll send you a free welcome pack.
