Why do you want a monthly gift?
Helping people to tackle and overcome poverty takes time. And before we can commit to long-term projects, we need to ensure we have an income we can rely on. By giving just 17p a day, you can help us ensure poor communities have the means to solve their problems and build a better future for themselves.
How much do I need to give?
A gift of just 17p a day – that’s only £5 a month – is all it takes to start changing lives in the poorest countries in the world. But of course, the more you can give, the more lives we can transform. That’s because we have the skills, experience and local knowledge to maximise every penny you give.
How will you spend my money?
We will spend the gifts you so generously give helping the poorest people access their basic rights to things like food, healthcare, education and a decent livelihood. With a little support, they can grow enough food to feed their families and even sell. They can gain the training they need to earn a better living, enabling them to send their children to school. And they can make their voices heard by those in power – using their new-found skills and confidence to demand better healthcare and access to medicines.
How will I know my gifts are being spent wisely?
ActionAid is one of the UK's largest international development organisations, with over 30 years experience of helping poor people in over 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. We always spend our funds wherever the poorest people need us most. But you don’t have to take our word for it. You can see the difference your gifts make for yourself in the photographs and letters we’ll send you, in updates from the field and in our supporter magazine, Common Cause.
What if I can't afford it anymore?
Every gift you are able to give helps our work enormously– even the smallest amount. But if you are unable to continue supporting us for any reason, please contact us on 01460 23 8047 or email supporterservices@actionaid.org.uk to let us know.
What is Gift Aid and how does it help?
Thanks to the government's Gift Aid scheme, if you are a UK taxpayer, ActionAid can reclaim the tax on your donations. This increases the value of your gifts by almost a third at no extra cost to you. Any funds received from Gift Aid are spent on priority activities where the need is greatest.
