
Millions of people have been affected by Cyclone Sidr, which hit the Bangladesh coast on 15 November. Thousands have lost their lives and many more have been left without food or shelter. Cyclone Sidr has devastated the Bangladesh coast line flattening houses and causing widespread flooding.
In the wake of Cyclone Sidr ActionAid took Dr Raj Persaud out to the stricken areas to see the devastation caused and meet some of those people worst affected.
On the night of the cyclone, the river swept in to Jahanara Begum's house, tearing away her daughter and husband. Read her story and those of seven other survivors.
