Jahanara Begum, 30, married with two children, lost her husband and one daughter in the cyclone, she has one surviving daughter Shakila. She is from Banda village, South Khali Union, Shoronkhola Thana, Bagerhat district, Bangladesh.

On the night of the cyclone, Jahanara Begum, 30, took the family to a neighbour’s house in Tafalbari but the river swept in, tearing away her children and husband.
