10 -23 October 2009
Join us in India and you will meet and work with local people as you renovate a homeless project in Delhi. You will also trek through one of the world’s most breathtaking mountain ranges and visit the Taj Mahal.
Your First Hand Experience begins with a five day trek through spectacular Himalayan scenery, lush green valleys and snow-covered peaks. Nights will be spent under canvas, beneath the world’s clearest skies.
You will visit Dharamsala, home of the Dalai Lama and then return to Delhi to spend two days renovating an ActionAid homeless shelter, which will improve the life of homeless children and adults.
Finally, we will end our challenge with a visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world.
"Words can’t describe the impact this trip had on me! Every day was a new adventure with amazing sights and experiences. Visiting the project was very humbling and made everything worthwhile." Anne Mills, First Hand Experience in India 2008
