On Thursday 17th November 2011 Clive Anderson, Jo Brand, Charles Dance, Nicholas Owen and James Purefoy became the sharpest of wine buffs and wine bluffers at ActionAid's celebrity fundraising event, Call My Wine Bluff - the lively wine lover’s adaptation of the classic TV game show. Many thanks to all who attended and contributed to such a fantastic evening in aid of ActionAid’s important work.

Guests joined our celebrity panel at London’s five star St Pancras Renaissance Hotel for an exclusive evening of wonderful wine, fabulous food and top-class celebrity entertainment. The stories verged from hilarious to absolutely unbelievable with many punters being completely fooled by tall tales.

Those who managed to snap up tickets to ActionAid’s Call My Wine Bluff had the chance to taste six wines all donated by exclusive wine merchant Laithwaites as well as enjoying a sumptuous 3 course meal.

Guests also enjoyed a fabulous live and silent auction, with prize lots such as an Epiphone Casino Vintage Sunburst guitar, signed by Noel Gallagher, selling for £9,500. Luxury holidays, celebrity wine tastings and many more experiences were also up for grabs.

We were also thrilled with the generous pledges made on the night, with a total of £32,350 raised towards building the third Millione school in Sierra Leone. This bespoke ActionAid project aims to raise a million pounds and build 20 primary schools for children.

A total of £138,000 was raised in an unforgettable night of food, wine, and dupes, all to ensure ActionAid can continue its work fighting poverty around the world. Many thanks to all who contributed to make this such as a successful event!
