Partnerships

Long-term partnerships

We seek to build long-term partnerships with our partners, developing mutually beneficial relationships that engage our partners and arm the poorest and most vulnerable people with the tools to change their own futures. We involve our partners as deeply as they wish in the projects they support - from briefings by country staff and impact reports, to personally visiting projects on the ground.

We continually strive to use innovative and the most effective techniques to bring about long-lasting change and we value and encourage the expertise that our partners can share with us.

Together we can make a lasting impact.

Charity of the Year partnerships

Selecting ActionAid as your organisation’s Charity of the Year is a great way of engaging your staff, clients and networks, whilst making a tangible difference to the fight against poverty. Our experienced team can support you with all levels of staff engagement, fundraising activities and events in order to fulfil your objectives and maximise the benefits to your organisation.

Your teams can visit and experience first-hand the projects that you support and the communities whose lives are changed for good. Our country programme staff can deliver talks to inspire and motivate your teams and you will receive quality communications and reports about the work you support to keep your fundraising on-track and up-to-date.

Supporting ActionAid is a powerful tool to invest in the fight against poverty and together we can work to maximise the rewards to your organisation.

Transforming the lives of street children

Segro adventureSEGRO employees across Europe selected ActionAid as their 2010 Charity of the Year partner. Staff took part in a wide range of fundraising initiatives to fund a project supporting India’s vulnerable street children.

SEGRO set a fundraising target of £100,000 and through events, project visits, sailing and golf days they managed to smash their target to raise £120,000. This amazing achievement established centres that have supported 3,416 street children in India within the first year of the project, providing them safe shelter, food, clothing, counselling and access to education and vocational training. The partnership was such a success that our close relationship with SEGRO continues beyond their year of official support.

Project-led partnerships

Combing the strength of your organisation with the work of ActionAid can be a very powerful tool. Working together we can create projects that leverage your expertise to multiply the effects of our work on the ground.

One in a Millione

The Millione Foundation was set up by entrepreneur and ActionAid supporter Jerry Lockspeiser who founded the Bottle Green Drinks Company. The Millione Foundation has created a sparkling wine called “Millione”, aiming to sell a million bottles in order to build 20 schools in Sierra Leone. So far we have already built three schools, transforming the lives of thousands of children each year, arming them with the education that creates real opportunity for their future.

You + ActionAid =

The ravages of an 11 year civil war destroyed Sierra Leone’s education system, leaving almost 70% of school-aged children without education and vulnerable to early marriage and hazardous or exploitative work.

In 2010, Discovery Summer funded the building of a primary school for 650 children in Freetown, Sierra Leone, enabling the current and future children of the community access to quality primary education. Building on the success of this project, Discovery Summer’s next challenge is to build and equip a junior secondary school in Kola Tree, giving children the opportunity to progress on from basic primary education at age 12.
