Sean volunteered at the festivals

I Volunteered for ActionAid last summer and I bloomin' loved it!

I’ve been a regular festival goer for a number of years now, but going out with Actionaid last summer took the enjoyment to a new level.

It gave me the opportunity to meet and talk with new people about numerous awareness topics, explaining to people how somebody can make a difference through voice and petition and not necessarily through money.

The Actionaid team itself is full of enthusiastic fun-loving people, many of whom I now stay in contact with regularly.

There’s a lot of effort put in behind the scenes too - there is an enormous sense of achievement for all once a festival weekend is over - and an enormous hangover.

I would say Actionaids' Bollocks to Poverty is probably the only Campaign which enables festival goers to discuss a wide range of topical issues while playing giant jenga. And it works.

I'll be back again in the summer - so should you! x

How can you help fight poverty without donating? Let us count the ways: Gig, shop, be an activist, rag raid, download music, volunteer at a festival, skydive, run, make beautiful art, join our social networks, party, organise, go see our work overseas, spread the word with free stuff, OR suggest an idea of your own. Phew.
