Cocknbullkid chooses her ultimate festival anthems.
B.O.B - Outkast buy
Love the beat on this track. Impossible not to dance to. Outkast don't play enough festivals in my opinion.
Play Dead - Bjork buy
This would be perfect as the Sunday night, last act of the festival song. Such a huge, beautiful song. With a live orchestra would be amazing too. You might just have to hold on to a stranger and have a cry to this.
Back On The Motorway - Metronomy buy
One of my favourite live bands. And this song is probably one of the best songs they've ever done. Everyone goes a bit mental when they play this.
We Are Your Friends - Justice v Simian buy
I remember when this first came out and I didn't know who it was by but I'd have to dance to it. I loved it instantly because everybody would dance with the person beside them. Just a brilliant feel good track that does what it says on the tin.
Sorted For E's and Wizz - Pulp buy
Great crowd pleaser. I heard this from the top of the hill at The Park at Glastonbury this year and it sounded incredible. Everyone knew the words.
Smack My Bitch Up - The Prodigy buy
Brilliant song. Reminds me of my when I first started going out with the 'club kids'. When I first started doing PAs I would do a bootleg of this with a verse I made up called Dance Motherfu*ker Dance. I cringe on remembering this. But I remember the crowd would lose it every time they recognised the song.
Selecta - Mz Bratt buy
I really like Mz Bratt. I am yet to see her live but I have many good things about her. I like the nod to the 90s Jungle sound on this. But the song just feels really fresh every time I hear it.
Rollin'- Limp Bizkit buy
I played this at my Bestival DJ set in 2009- the year MJ died. It was quite a risky one to drop but the crowd loved it. I have loads of memories associated with this song. Mainly my out of control crush on Fred Durst I had from the age of 16 to about 20.
Gypsy Woman - Crystal Waters buy
I am yet to hear how well this goes down at a festival but the litmus test is seeing how well it goes down at a dj set. Whenever I play this at a dj set I get people saying how they'd forgotten how much they love the song. I think it's the simple and repetitive 'da da dee dow dow' hook that gets you. I'd love to hear it on huge speakers in a field somewhere.
You Can Call Me Al - Paul Simon buy
I bloody love Paul Simon and you sometimes hear this played at the odd party. I always have a increased amount of respect for the DJ whenever I hear it. I managed to catch Paul Simon play this at a festival this year. The sun had just come out and it was incredible.
