Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens picks his ultimate festival anthems!
Pulp - Common People buy
Headling this year after memorable performances at the festival in the mid 90's, Jarvis Cocker is still on fine form and this remains one of the greatest songs ever written.
Tenacious D - Tribute buy
Their set at Reading 2008 was a triumphant; they had a huge crowd united and there to enjoy themselves, and got the whole field laughing its behind off!
The XX - Islands buy
The played the Festival Republic tent just before the world caught on to how good they actually were, there were 'X's flying everyhwere, and everyone fell in love with them.
Stereophonics - A Thousand Trees buy
This raw, passionate, story telling band were first on the Main Stage at Reading when I was there for the first time, and they blew me away. A few years later they were headlining, with Tom Jones joining them onstage.
Weezer - Buddy Holly buy
They were my favourite band at Reading in 2010. They had trampolines, Lady GaGa wigs and footballs, but essentially they had a brilliant back catalogue of tunes everyone went wild for.
Bloc Party - Like Eating Glass buy
They met at Reading, worked their way up the bill, and have owned the stage everytime they've played. I reckon they'll headline one of these years.
Lostprophets - Rooftops buy
I love it when Lostprophets play massive stages like the Reading mainstage; anthems like this one really brings everyone together and they rule live.
The Wannadies - You and Me Song buy
It was my first time at Reading, just after getting our GCSE results. This was huge at the time, and they blew me away!
The Cribs - Mens Needs buy
A proper Reading and Leeds band, I get so excited everytime they play. A band doing it for the right reasons, and this is my favourite song of theirs.
LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends buy
A great song by a truly great band who came to an end recently, but graced the stages at Reading and Leeds a few times.
