We're giving women all over Afghanistan legal training, so that the people who commit crimes of violence against women get what they deserve. Our new legal trainees took 240 cases of violence against women to court last year, winning 127 of them.

And we're doing something even more important, too.

Running literacy workshops for women or teaching 5-year-old girls the alphabet may not sound like much. But in a country where 84% of women never learn to read, they are the most important steps towards stopping the violence. For good.
