Dishing up Sunday's Roast to fight global poverty

02 November 2004

Get your slice of Sunday’s Roast at London’s Cargo, on Sunday 7 November in a night of phat beats and visual stimulants, all to help fight global poverty.

ActionAid Space, the creative campaigning network of international development agency ActionAid, is putting on Sunday’s Roast to raise funds and awareness of their work.

On the 1’s and 2’s are super DJ’s Tom Middleton (Jedi Knights) and CL-1 Buckmeister Fresh, Boomclick (SundayBest), DJ Keiron Hebden (Fourtet) Fat Camp & Peepshow Paddy. Providing the visual thrills are twisidd, dr Mo, Sublime visual, Mondo, we make telly, Visibel, Mach V.

Peepshow Paddy who DJ’d at Reading Music Festival for ActionAid is adding his support.  "It’s really important we do our bit to help fight poverty," said Paddy. "This night is an opportunity for people to get down and enjoy themselves while making a positive difference to the lives of poor people."

ActionAid Space’s Brendan O’Donnell said: "Everyday, 60 times Cargo’s 500 capacity die because they live in extreme poverty.  Sunday’s Roast is about galvanising clubbers’ energies.  At Cargo they can find out what they can do to make poverty history in 2005."
