For the last few months, our friends at the Tax Justice Network have been producing an excellent monthly tax cast, covering all the big news in tax-world as well as delving deeper into some of the bigger issues we’re campaigning on.
This month’s edition looks at an issue close to ActionAid’s hearts, focusing on tax dodging, mining and aid in Zambia. It features Savior Mwambwa, head of the Centre for Trade Policy & Development – a partner of ActionAid.
Savior explains how international tax rules “are making it easy for big companies to avoid paying their taxes in Zambia.” He also lays down a challenge for it all to take up: “If Europe is serious about its rhetoric on corruption it should help fight tax avoidance.”
