Last week we were lucky enough to have three amazing tax justice campaigners talking to a packed room of ActionAid supporters. It was an inspiring event, it was great to hear about the really wide variety of tax justice campaigning from around the world, from tackling tax havens to fighting against tax policies that hit the poorerst hardest. It made me think about how our campaigning in the UK is part of this global campaign, and that by joining up together we can have the biggest impact.
You can read Lucy's round up of the event, or if you want to hear exactly what was said you can listen to the speakers in these three bitesize clips.
>> Alvin Mosioma from Tax Justice Network Africa talks about the impact of tax havens and harmful tax competition driving down tax rates in East Africa.
>> Jorge Coronado from Latindadd in Costa Rica talks about the broad range of campaigns emerging in Latin America from the Robin Hood Tax to campaigns tackling tax havens.
>> Lidy Nacpil from Jubilee South in the Philippines tells us that tax justice isn't a new issue, she has been campaigning on tax justice for over 20 years! She gives examples of successful campaigning, and why tax justice is important for gender equality.
