A powerful earthquake struck xxx on xxx shortly after 11pm local time. More than 2,000 people have been killed, with over 2,000 more injured.
 

With a magnitude of 6.8, its epicentre was in the High Atlas mountains, around 72 km south-west of Marrakech. The earthquake destroyed buildings and infrastructure, and thousands of people have lost their homes. Rescue workers are facing challenging conditions as they try to reach survivors, with many roads to remote areas destroyed or blocked with debris. 

ActionAid has been present in Morocco for more than 20 years, working in collaboration with local partner organisations.

90% of your donation will go directly to our  Appeal.

10% of your donation will be retained for ActionAid’s Emergency Action Fund which will only be used for ensuring we are prepared and able to respond quickly and more effectively to future emergencies and crises.

If the total amount raised for this appeal exceeds the funds needed for the response, ActionAid will transfer the remaining balance to the Emergency Action Fund. All Gift Aid claimed on donations will fund ActionAid’s work across the world, wherever the need is greatest.
