Trek Mount Kilimanjaro

Climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and raise money to support vulnerable women and girls across the world.

What will I be doing?

Trekking

Climbing the highest mountain in Africa will take a little preparation - we will provide you with detailed training plans to help reach the summit.

Food

On trekking days we will enjoy big cooked breakfasts, packed lunches and a variety of delicious hot dinners, catering for all dietary requirements.

Making friends

Whether you sign up on your own or with a friend, you'll meet lots of amazing people and great volunteers of all ages!

Visiting other ActionAid projects

If you wish to extend your trip we can arrange for you to visit nearby ActionAid projects, to gain a broader insight into our work in Tanzania.

Accommodation

You will be camping in tents on the mountain during the trek, and staying in hotels before and afterwards to ease your aching muscles!

Local culture

There will be the opportunity to have some free time either side of the trek, to take part in some optional tours and explore the town of Moshi.

Women to Kilimanjaro

ActionAid

"I am going to climb to the top!"

"I am going to climb to the top, Penninah declares, "because I have to go and speak."

Penninah is a 48-year-old smallholder farmer from Bukadea, in Eastern Uganda. Last October she and 29 other female farmers from across Africa gathered at Mount Kilimanjaro to demand that governments stand up for women's land rights.

The overwhelming majority of local farmers in Africa are women, but in many communities they dont have control over the land they care for. We support local women and their communities to take their land, and claim their rights.

Will you climb Mount Kilimanjaro in the footsteps of these women farmers and continue what they have started?
