Kath Abrahams will be joining the board of trustees at ActionAid UK, an
international charity working with women and girls living in poverty.

Kath joins ActionAid UK bringing 20 years of experience in the charity sector, specifically in
fundraising, marketing and communications. She is currently Director of Engagement and
Fundraising at Diabetes UK, and Vice Chair of The Institute of Fundraising.

As a mother of two girls, and formerly a leader with Girlguiding UK, she is passionate about
the need to create a world where girls and women have increasing opportunities to lead and
make change.

On becoming an ActionAid trustee, she said:

"I feel hugely privileged to have been given the opportunity to join the Trustee Board at such
an exciting time for Action Aid UK. I love the charity’s clear mission and the focus on the
rights of women and girls as the best route to achieving change in the world.

"I am also very engaged by the plan to adopt feminist leadership principles to create an
environment that brings out the best ideas from everyone. I am looking forward to meeting
and learning from the team and playing my part to make sure that together we can have the
greatest possible impact in the future.”

Kath will be joining the ActionAid UK board of trustees which is part of the ActionAid
International Federation of development charities and recognised for its pioneering work on
diversity and inclusion. With an annual income of nearly £200m globally, this Federation
works in 43 countries, reaching thousands of communities and, most importantly, making a
real difference to the lives of the world’s poorest women and girls.

Girish Menon, Chief Executive at ActionAid UK said: “We are delighted to be welcoming
Kath to ActionAid UK. Her unwavering commitment to find ways in which to engage and
inspire people to give is essential in these uncertain times. Her experience will be vital in
helping us successfully fundraise and empower others to make change.”
