Two powerful earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria on Monday 6th February, in the space of 12 hours.

The first earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude hit south-eastern Turkey, near the Syrian border and the second one struck four kilometres outside Ekinozu in central Turkey.

Thousands of people have died so far in Turkey and Syria, and even more have been injured and displaced. Major buildings have collapsed and the numbers are expected to rise as the search for survivors continues in both countries.

By fundraising for the DEC Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal, you can strengthen our emergency response and help those affected by the earthquake get life-saving supplies and much-needed support.

How does your fundraising help?

£50 could provide a mother and two children with thermal clothes and blankets to survive the freezing conditions

£120 could provide emergency ready-to-eat food for three families

£270 could provide for a heater for nine families to keep warm

We need you now more than ever – you can directly support our response in providing shelter, food, medical aid, warm clothing, heaters and cash for those who have lost their homes and are out on the streets. Thank you for your support.
