Our emergency appeals | ActionAid UK

Over 800 people have died in the devastating earthquake and tsunami that have hit the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. An estimated 1.6 million people have been affected. Rescuers are frantically searching for survivors beneath the rubble. With access to the affected areas difficult and communications down, the full scale of this tragedy is not yet known.

Our local team is on the ground right now, bringing essential supplies to those who have lost everything. We are en route to the worst-hit areas with shelter supplies, electricity generators and solar lamps. We’re also preparing to distribute food, water, blankets nappies and sanitary kits for women.

The Emergencies Action Fund is there to make sure we are always ready to respond to emergencies, to save as many lives as possible.

It is reserved solely for ActionAid’s work in emergencies. Donate now to our Emergencies Action Fund.
