More than 2,000 people have been confirmed dead in the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit the Indonesian island of Sulawesi in September 2018. The 7.5 magnitude earthquake caused a tsunami with waves as high as 18 feet to sweep into the city of Palu, decimating entire communities.
We have reached at least 60,000 people with emergency aid, including shelter, food, water, clothing, nappies and sanitary kits for women and girls. We are now carrying out a six-month response with our partners on the ground, focusing on food, water, shelter, psycho-social support and the protection of women and girls living in temporary camps.
The Emergencies Action Fund is there to make sure we are always ready to respond in emergencies. It is reserved solely for this work.
Please donate now. When disasters strike, you could help us save as many lives as possible.
