ActionAid UK Chief Executive Girish Menon said: “As an organisation that fights for the rights of women and girls and for refugees, ActionAid fully supports the petition to prevent a state visit by President Trump.
“We do this on the basis that values of tolerance, fairness, non-discrimination and internationalism are fundamental to the work we do in 45 countries across the world.
“The rights of women and girls should be protected and not eroded. Minorities should be respected and not alienated. And refugees fleeing violence and disaster should be helped and not shunned.”
