In the aftermath of the devastating flash flood along the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river corridors that has left an immense trail of destruction, ActionAid and its local partners are assessing the situation and will launch a locally led humanitarian response.
Sujeeta Mathema, the Executive Director at ActionAid Nepal, said, “The Bhotekoshi floods have caused immense devastation. Families lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods within mere moments. While rescue efforts continue, urgent humanitarian assistance is needed now to support affected communities and protect women and girls as a priority. ActionAid Nepal is working alongside partners and local authorities to assess needs and help ensure that no one is left behind in the response and recovery effort."
ActionAid is preparing a response in the downstream area of Dhading municipality while also coordinating with local authorities and other actors for information from the Rasuwa and Nuwakot epicentre areas.
