Why run for ActionAid
Sabita Mahat is a single mother of two boys and a resilient entrepreneur. She is also a burn survivor who has rebuilt her life through creativity, determination and community support. Over the years, Sabita tried different small businesses, facing losses along the way but she never stopped believing in her future.
I have never learned crafts through courses. Since childhood, it has come naturally to me."
With support from INARA by Astitwa, a one-stop business centre for skilled artisans inNepal, Sabita set up her own small craft business. INARA provides a platform for artisans, many of them burn survivors, to showcase and sell their products, while also offering training to develop new designs and innovations.
Located in Lalitpur, the INARA centre displays handmade crafts filled with meaning each candle, thread and piece telling a story of resilience.
By fundraising for ActionAid, you can help survivors of violence access vital services and support in seeking justice.
