01 The context
Chronic underfunding forces organisations to focus on survival rather than lasting change
Consistent message from over 300 women's rights organisations interviewed across 65 countries
02 The fund
What is TRANSFORM?
TRANSFORM partners with those most affected by injustice; particularly racialised, queer, disabled and Indigenous women.
Building on decades of trusted relationships with feminist movements in more than 75 countries, TRANSFORM combines the infrastructure of a feminist fund and an INGO.
TRANSFORM backs feminist movements and organisations through two streams:
03 Our partners
Partner organisations
We are working in partnership with Women's Rights Organisations and Feminist Movements across Colombia, Haiti, India, Ghana, Indonesia and Nigeria.
04 Our commitment
What makes TRANSFORM different
WE FUND TRUST, NOT PROJECTS
Our approach recognises that many women’s rights organisations and feminist movements are fighting for survival against a rising wave of intimidation, surveillance and defunding. By providing flexible, long-term, core funding without a long list of restrictions, we trust that those already operating under severe constraints, are best equipped to decide how resources should be allocated.
WE PRIORITISE THOSE MOST AFFECTED BY INJUSTICE
By supporting women-led organisations representing marginalised communities, like Dalit, queer and Indigenous women, we reach movements that others often cannot. By partnering with both registered and non-registered groups, we back movements that others often won’t.
WE FUND FLEXIBLY
TRANSFORM grantees decide how to use their funding in the ways that will have the greatest impact, whether that means hiring staff, covering rent, launching campaigns or meeting other organisational needs. The decision is theirs.
WE PROVIDE MORE THAN MONEY
Based on their needs, TRANSFORM works with grantees on feminist mentoring, digital security and legal assistance. TRANSFORM facilitates networking opportunities, enabling grantee-partners to connect, collaborate and build valuable relationships.
WE BRING TOGETHER THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF BOTH A FEMINIST FUND AND AN INGO
Backed by the global reach of the ActionAid Federation, TRANSFORM builds on decades of trusted relationships with feminist movements in more than 75 countries. These partnerships are rooted in trust, solidarity and local leadership, enabling us to reach a diverse range of women's rights organisations across multiple contexts with confidence.
