ActionAid’s Big Me is a dress up day with a difference.

Ask your pupils to dream big and dress bold as their future selves. Whether they see themselves becoming a doctor, artist, engineer or explorer in their future, Big Me Day gives children the chance to celebrate their ambitions, whilst raising funds to support children around the world to create the future they want.  

Simply pick a day that suits your school and ask your students to dress up as their dream job.

  • Free teaching resources to use on the day including worksheets, posters, stickers and a teacher checklist.
  • A class certificate to celebrate your fundraising efforts.
  • Support you in planning your Big Me day to make sure it's a big success.

Big Impact 

The funds your school raises will have a real impact as we support schools in their endeavour to provide a good quality, publicly funded education accessible to all girls, because no child should be out of school. 

Learning Facilities in Nigeria

The community schools in Gatte and Tenebo had no chairs and desks, with pupils sitting on the floor to learn. This made it difficult for them to write well, and the children returned home with dirty clothes. The situation was so bad that many of the children were not motivated to go to school, and as such many opted to drop out.

With support from ActionAid, community primary schools were provided with newly constructed chairs and desks, and some school structures were renovated. Since then, over a 50% increase in enrolment was recorded, with a dropout rate of less than 5%.
