We asked you to live on £1 a day for 5 days, for all of your food and drink. We told you it would make the world of difference to people living in poverty and over 400 of you signed up.
£1 a day sounds doable after all. And, you felt fairly sure that your epic cooking skills could carry you through any foodie challenge.
So, you told all your friends and family that you were taking the challenge because for 1.2 billion people around the world, living on £1 a day is a reality, not a challenge. And they were like…
But, it didn’t take long before you realised that £1 really doesn’t go very far. And meal times often ended up feeling a little more like this…
Friends and colleagues tried to comfort you through these times of hardship by offering you free food. Literally all of the time. And, every single day you’d be like, “NO I DO NOT WANT A BISCUIT. It’s against the rules!”
On Thursday you realised that pooling your funds with your friends might mean you have more variety in your lunch choices… only to be sorely disappointed.
But, every time someone donated towards your fundraising target it all became worthwhile.
Because now ActionAid has been able to put over £51,500 to work, allowing us to improve lives and create a happier future for women and children around the world.
And we think that makes you absolutely brilliant.
Over 2,500 of you signed up, participated, sponsored and donated to the challenge. Your support has helped to raise over £51,500. We simply could not have done it without you. Thank you.
