Why is everyone bleating on about goats?

Goats. Well known for producing milk and cheese - not so well known for producing Christmas albums. But that's exactly what our friends at ActionAid Sweden have done, to raise awareness of how buying a goat as a Christmas gift can have a life-changing impact on women and girls in poverty.

‘All I want for Christmas is a Goat’ features eight festive anthems including Jingle Bells, Silent Night and White Christmas. Christmas favourite Holy Night has got over 300,000 views on YouTube alone, and has been played on radio stations up and down the country, leading many to ask: could this bleat the X Factor for Christmas number 1?

Buy a goat for Christmas

But all of this silliness is for a very good cause. By providing goats to some of the poorest communities in the world, we can ensure that families have nourishing milk to drink and sell to increase their income. By breeding goats, families can grow their herds and sell baby goats to buy tools and seeds. It’s just one of the ways that we are providing hands-on, lasting solutions to help change lives for good.

You can support our goat breeding scheme as a gift for a loved one for Christmas.
