Ten-year-old Anisa is from Mombasa County, Kenya. She lives and works on a dumpsite - like many children in her area, she picks through the rubbish to find plastic bottles to sell.
But ActionAid is working in Anisa’s community to help transform girls’ futures. We’re running a network of projects that support girls into schools, keep girls from dropping out of school, and help girls to catch up on learning they’ve missed.
Anisa has been supported by ActionAid to go to school and get the education that is her right. Now, she looks forward to leaving the dumpsite and becoming a police officer when she grows up.
ActionAid believes that every girl has the right to go to school. Every girl has the power to transform her own future, and build a life free from poverty – if only she’s given the chance.
So please give a gift today, to help a girl open the door to a brighter future.
