Cambodia First Hand Experience 2016
4 – 13 November 2016
Volunteer with us to help build a much-needed classroom for a village primary school in Kampot province, South Cambodia, where poor education and literacy levels remain a huge barrier, especially for women and girls. This promises to be a life-changing experience for you and for the local community.

What will I be doing?
You’ll be working alongside local people to build the classroom. You don’t need any building experience to take part - just enthusiasm, motivation and the desire to muck in and help!
What’s the itinerary?
Fri 4 November
Meet your team at London Heathrow and take an overnight flight to Phnom Penh.
Sat 5 November
Arrive in Phnom Penh in the afternoon. There's time to relax before enjoying a welcome dinner.
Sun 6 November
Go on a morning sightseeing tour before travelling to Kampot. There will be a team dinner and project briefing in the evening.
Mon 7 - Thu 10 November
Each morning you will travel to the local school to help build the classrom. During the week we will visit another ActionAid project and enjoy some cultural activities. Each evening we'll head back to the hotel before eating dinner.
Fri 11 November
The final day of the build and an emotional farewell ceremony. We celebrate our achievements with a last meal with new friends.
Sat 12 November
Transfer to the airport on Saturday for the return flight back to London, arriving Sunday morning.
Optional extension to Siem Reap – from £285
Sat 12 November - Tues 15 November
Fly to the vibrant city of Siem Reap, gateway to the Angkor temples, where you will spend three days exploring the famous temples and surrounding area. Among the one thousand temples is the magnificent Angkor Watt, said to be the world's largest single religious monument. You will also visit the temple of Ta Prohm, which was used as a location in the film Tomb Raider.
When you are not exploring the temples, you will have time to enjoy the relaxed Cambodian pace of life and soak up the magic of the country.
