As reports that at least 126 people, mostly children, have been killed in a Taliban assault on an army-run school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, ActionAid’s Country Director in Pakistan, Daud Saqlain says:
“ActionAid Pakistan strongly condemns the shocking terrorist attack on innocent children at the Army Public School in Peshawar.
“It’s good that a rescue operation was launched so quickly, managing to rescue a number of students. But it’s saddening and shocking that so many children have been killed.
“Civil society condemns this brutal act by militants. We will join three days of mourning, along with the rest of Pakistan.”
