ActionAid Nigeria Country Director Hussaini Abdu said: “It is clearly good news that Nigeria has now been declared Ebola free – and demonstrates that Ebola can be fought and contained.
“It also shows how a well-resourced health service and good infection-surveillance systems has meant we can respond to Ebola in an effective and co-ordinated way.
“However we must remain vigilant. Ebola is a highly dangerous virus and we must stay alert to any signs of new infections so that we can respond quickly and effectively.”
